The procedure for extradition of Ljupcho Palevski, the prime suspect in the murder of Vanja Gjorchevska and Panche Zhezhovski, will take several months, said the Macedonian Ministry of Justice on Wednesday.
The ministry says that the extradition procedure from the Macedonian side is the same as for all countries.
“From the day he was arrested, we were in coordination with SMPS-Interpol, as well as with the Skopje Public Prosecutor’s Office. At 9:20 a.m. we received the official notification from the Ministry of Interior and opened a case. The request for extradition was ready, the minister signed it and it was translated the same day. Before doing so, we requested that he be immediately detained for extradition,” said the Department for International Legal Assistance within the Ministry of Justice.
