Customs officials have seized a large amount of precursors for the production of drugs during a search of a passenger motor vehicle at the Tabanovce border crossing.

“On 10.12.2023 during a search of a passenger motor vehicle with Slovak license plates, at the Tabanovce border crossing for entry into North Macedonia, customs officials found fourteen tin cans, a total of 126 liters of drug precursors, with 10 cans being labeled TOLUEN LAKARSKY weighing 9 liters each, and four cans labeled ACETON, weighing 9 liters each, in the luggage compartment of the vehicle. After an inspection of the goods it was determined that they are precursors used for the production of certain drugs, such as cocaine, heroin, and some amphetamines,” the Customs said in a press release.

According to the press release, a criminal report has been filed to the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office for “unauthorized production and sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and precursors” punishable under Article 215 of the Criminal Code.
