An initiative to amend the Law on Local Self-Government and collect signatures for a referendum to recall mayors is announced by the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) under the leadership of President Monika Zajkova and the newly founded city organization under the LDP in Skopje, led by Filip Jakimovski.
“What is happening in the capital Skopje is a clear sign that there must be a mechanism for recalling the mayors. Citizens must not suffer because of the incompetence of local authorities,” said the LDP.
The party points out that this initiative is aimed at meeting the needs of citizens and improving life in the capital.
