Another year of DUI and SDS rule is passing, a year of scandals, corruption and crime. This year, there was one criminal affair in almost all 365 days, and sometimes two or three per day. All of them contributed to Macedonia sinking even more into poverty and hopelessness, the opposition VMRO-DPMNE said in a press release.
“The past year was also successful for the companies related to DUI… Millions of euros from public tenders ended up with the donors of the party in power for public procurement, tenders that are not executed, etc. And for this there was no criminal or political responsibility… and that’s why they were also noted in the EC report,” said the opposition party.
“The government led by DUI and SDS with its disastrous policies brought about 600,000 citizens to the brink of poverty, and 80,000 to extreme poverty. That is why 215,000 able-bodied people left Macedonia in just a few quarters and went to work and contribute abroad. For the year 2023, Macedonia will have the lowest GDP growth of a catastrophic 1.8% of all the countries in the Western Balkans, which is twice as bad as the others. Also, at the level of 7 years, that is, during this period of this government, Macedonia advanced cumulatively only 20%, between 2017 and 2023,” VMRO-DPMNE pointed out.
