In the period between 2017 and 2023, the growth of GDP per capita in Macedonia is only 20%, while in all other countries of the region it is 50%, and sometimes even more than that, the VMRO-DPMNE spokesperson Marija Miteva told a press briefing on Tuesday.
Miteva pointed out that while in Macedonia the economy grew by 20%, in BiH it increased by 42%.
“While Macedonia has a growth of only 20%, in Serbia the growth is 50%. And for the same period in Bulgaria per capita GDP increased by 64%. Albania also has more than double the growth of Macedonia, where GDP per capita in the period from 2017 to 2022 grew by 52%. In 2017, Macedonia has a higher GDP per capita than Albania and BiH, now both countries that were behind us have passed, and Serbia, Bulgaria and Montenegro are even more ahead of us,” said the opposition spokesperson.
