VMRO-DPMNE: Chebren tender failed due to Government’s omissions and lack of capacity or knowledge for capital projects, we were the first to raise the alarm about this

Over a month ago, the leader of VMRO-DPMNE Hristijan Mickoski openly warned about omissions in the procedure for the implementation of the Chebren project, we warned that the Government changed several times the decisions related to the construction of the Chebren hydropower plant, which created a complex situation and potentially a huge issue in the future, VMRO-DPMNE said on Wednesday.

At the same time, the opposition party claims that during that period the ruling SDSM claimed that such criticisms were ‘malicious’ and ‘untrue’, and only a month later the project failed.

The VMRO-DPMNE points out that this means that in a short period of time several documents were adopted that did not match each other, which caused a problem in which the Government led by SDSM and DUI became entangled in a project worth hundreds of millions of euros.
