The intrusion into the Air Traffic Control facility at the airport in Skopje, and a week after the incident, the public is still making waves. The government gave instructions for the replacement of management functions and the implementation of extraordinary inspection supervision and revision of the previous work, and for the incident on January 4 at the Macedonian Navigation M-NAV, the Public Prosecutor’s Office opened an investigation against eight persons for whom there is a well-founded suspicion that they have committed a crime – threat to air traffic safety.
Macedonian Minister of Defense Slavjanka Petrovska said that the Government has completed its part of the task, that it dismissed the directors whom it considered to have managed the institution insufficiently well, and that now the rest of the institutions should complete their part of the work professionally and without any influence.
