The Macedonian Minister of Labor and Social Policy Jovanka Trenchevska informed that in the area of domestic violence, psychological abuse was the most represented last year. As she said, from January to September 2023, 1,166 cases of domestic violence were reported, and 708 of them were related to psychological abuse.
“Between January and September 2023, we registered a total of 1,166 cases of domestic violence. Now we are gathering data for the whole year, from September to December. We will soon publish the data for the entire 2023. Yes, most of them, 708 cases, reported psychological abuse, unlike before, where the most common type of abuse was physical,” said Trenchevska at a press briefing on Monday.
