The Strumica Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office issued an order to conduct an investigative procedure against a mother suspected of neglect and abuse of a child from Article 201 paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code.
“The suspect, although she was obliged to support and take care of the life and health of her 4-year-old daughter, grossly neglected her parental duty of care and upbringing, abandoned her and allowed the child to indulge in begging, which adversely affected his development, health and personal safety. As a result, the child’s health was seriously affected, and on January 17, 2024, he was first admitted to the Strumica General Hospital in a serious state of health, and then hospitalized at the Children’s Disease Clinic in Skopje,” informed the Prosecutor’s Office.
The competent public prosecutor continues to act and is waiting for the expert report from the Institute of Forensic Medicine regarding the causes of the little girl’s injuries.
