The Council for Criminal Offenses at the Supreme Court decided on the submitted requests for an extraordinary review of a final verdict, in the case of the murder of the Croatian handball player Denis Tot.
Earlier, the Court of Appeals confirmed the sentences of all those convicted for the murder of Denis Tot. The first defendant, Angelo Gjordjievski, is serving 18 years. The second defendant, KlementinaLefkovska, is also serving 18 years in prison. And the third defendant, Andrej Kostovski, was sentenced to 16 years in prison.
The defendants pleaded not guilty to the murder charges. They wanted to be tried for fighting. They claimed that they did not intend nor planned to kill Tot, which is one of the conditions to commit the crime.
