So far, 22 cases of whooping cough have been recorded in the country, mostly in Skopje. The Ministry of Labor and Social Policy announced yesterday that inspection services will check in kindergartens in Skopje whether children have been vaccinated with the DTP vaccine to protect against whooping cough.

The health authorities are currently appealing to citizens to vaccinate themselves and the youngest, in order to protect themselves from pertussis, better known to the public as whooping cough or whooping cough. As they emphasize, the vaccine that is received at 2, 4, 6, 18 months and at 7 years is crucial to prevent further spread of the disease.

The Commission for Infectious Diseases on Wednesday recommended declaring an epidemic in Skopje.
