At Saturday’s forum organized by VMRO-DPMNE in Kichevo called “Infrastructural platform for the future” on the topic “Concept for investments in infrastructure”, professor at the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Skopje Goran Mijoski pointed out that Macedonia lags behind the region in terms of infrastructure and highways and the next government should have a modern strategy for connecting Macedonia with the region with a quality highway network.
He pointed out that several amendments to laws are needed in order to ensure quality construction and modern highways for easier connection.
“At the moment, we have close to 14,800 thousand kilometers of roads, of which 300 kilometers are highways, 90 kilometers are expressways, 3,800 local regional and the remaining 8,000 local roads. The development of the highway network in Macedonia lags behind both the region and Europe,” Mijoski stressed.
