The country’s average monthly net wage in December 2023 was MKD 39,998, according to the latest figures released by the State Statistical Office (SSO).
The average December 2023 net wage increased by 16.4 percent compared to December 2022, statistics show.
This increase is caused by the increase of the average monthly net wage paid per employee in the sectors: Public Administration and Defense; Compulsory Social Security (27.5%), Electricity, Gas, Steam and Air Conditioning Supply (27.1%) and Construction (21.8%), the SSO press release says.Compared to November 2023, the December 2023 net paychecks were higher for workers in the following sectors: Construction (9.7%), Arts, Entertainment and Recreation (9.0%) and Mining and Quarrying (8.6%).
The average monthly gross wage paid per employee in December 2023 was MKD 60,036.
