The Center for Crisis Management (CMC) informed on Sunday that there were a total of 448 wildfires in open spaces across the country in February.
As the CMC points out, out of the total number of fires, in 256 cases stubble and tall grass burned, in 128 fires low vegetation (bushes, low and degraded vegetation) and 42 were forest fires. In February, there were also 22 fires in landfills.
The CMC reports that the situation is similar in neighboring Serbia where, as the center says, there is an unusually large number of outdoor fires for this time of year.
