The primary goal of this Congress is to elect the holder of the list who will lead the future deputies in the European Parliament from the ranks of the European People’s Party (EPP). The only candidate is the current president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski.

The opposition party leader, accompanied by presidential candidate Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, the VMRO-DPMNE deputy leaders Aleksandar Nikoloski and Timcho Mucunski, Secretary for International Cooperation Stefan Andonovski, is on a two-day visit to Bucharest where they are attending the Congress of the European People’s Party (EPP) which is being held on Wednesday and Thursday.

“We expect by tomorrow that her candidacy will be voted by the delegates and that it will be a successful Congress from which many messages of unity will be sent for what is the challenge of the 21st century, condemnation of policies that mean disunity. And naturally we as VMRO-DPMNE here have our position related to the real policies that are related to Macedonia and Macedonia’s integration into the EU,” Mickoski said.
