SDSM started and completed the construction of the Konsko dam, a significant capital project, important for Macedonian agriculture, for the development of the overall economy, which will contribute to increasing not only production, but also the export of agricultural products and food, reads the press release of the ruling SDSM on Monday.
“This dam is the largest investment in the water infrastructure for agriculture, significant for irrigation of agricultural lands in the Gevgelija-Valandovo region, as well as for increased, high-quality and competitive agricultural production. With the Konsko dam, a decades-long challenge is put to an end, which opens up the possibility of accelerated regional development in the southeastern part of the country. The value of the investment for the Konsko dam is 40 million euros, an amount that is fully provided by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management. With this dam, it is possible to irrigate 4,000 hectares of net agricultural land,” SDSM pointed out.
