Presidential candidate Professor Gordana Siljanovska Davkova, backed by VMRO-DPMNE and coalition in the upcoming elections scheduled for April 24, believes that a solution can be found for the Negotiating Framework for the continuation of negotiations with the EU. She emphasizes that she is in favor of joining the European Union, but that “we can come to an agreement” and that there are many options for that.
“I want to say of course that I’m for the EU, but I don’t see the EU fatalistically so that I’m afraid to say that if I teach constitutional law how can I tell students that the fundamental values and principles protected that are in front of you do not apply to someone disobedient from your family, but you also say they do not apply to countries that are candidates to be respected. Then that’s wrong. The EU should be a community of principles, not of bureaucratic machinery. So, I think we can agree on the entry into force, there are many variants. About when they will enter into force, about Bulgaria’s obligation under the threat of Article 7 that it must respect the judgments of the Court in Strasbourg,” said the opposition presidential candidate.

When asked if the changes that could happen in the elections for the European Parliament, but also in the country, could contribute to a possible change of the Negotiating Framework and the whole process of negotiations for the chapters, Siljanovska-Davkova points out that the Negotiating Framework is not the Bible, the Koran or the Talmud.
