Free admission to museum institutions on May 18 – International Museum Day

“Museums for education and research” is the motto under which the International Museum Day, May 18, will be marked tomorrow, a date that museum institutions around the world have been celebrating with various activities since 1977. On this day, museums in the country traditionally open their doors and provide free admission for visitors who can see the current exhibitions and get to know the moving cultural wealth.

Museums have a significant role in education and are affirmers of topics that strongly affect the world today, and which are waiting to be explored and shared. Museum institutions encourage future generations to address the complex social challenges of today in a creative, dynamic and interesting way, to inform themselves about the causes and consequences of human impact on nature and to develop critical thinking and personal responsibility necessary for building a sustainable society.
