307 children between the ages of 14 and 18 were convicted of various crimes in 2023

In 2023 compared to 2022, the number of reported children in conflict with the law – perpetrators of criminal acts decreased by 8.5 percent, and the number of convicted children in conflict with the law – perpetrators of criminal acts increased by 17.2 percent, reported the State Statistics Office (SSO).

A total of 433 children in conflict with the law were reported, while in 287 cases a proposal was submitted for imposing a penalty/measure, for 110 no proceedings were initiated, and for 36 the proceedings were stopped.

A total of 307 children between the ages of 14 and 18 were convicted, of which 120 for crimes against property, 70 for crimes against public order, 43 for criminal offences against life and limb, 37 for crimes against public traffic safety, etc.
