Migrants disappeared from the southern border of the country, but also from the daily bulletins of the Macedonian Ministry of Interior. The last case was registered three weeks ago, when seven migrants were discovered.
According to data from the Ministry of Interior, 3,349 migrants were discovered last year in the first five months, and 1,698 in the same period 2024.
In the first five months, the police discovered 16 cases of migrant smuggling, one more than in the same period last year.
The Ministry of Interior adds that migrants have recently been using the so-called soft routes through Bulgaria and Albania.
