SDSM has barely any staff and is on the verge of political existence

Former Skopje Mayor and SDSM member Petre Shilegov in an interview with TV Sitel assessed that the party is faced with a serious staff and political crisis.

According to Shilegov, SDSM has been significantly weakened, pointing out that members who pointed out problems in the way the party was managed in recent years were not accepted, which is why this approach led the party to a serious decline on the political scene.

Shilegov cited the results in several cities as examples, noting that in Skopje the party came fifth.

“It is unfortunate what is happening to SDSM. First, it is seriously depleted in terms of personnel. Even the people who could have helped in some way are clearly undesirable, they all met us with a knife because we pointed out that the way the party has been managed in the last few years is bringing SDSM to the brink of political existence. SDSM has become the 5th party in Skopje, SDSM has become the 3rd party in Bitola, in Prilep, in Veles, in Shtip, in Kumanovo,” said Shilegov.

According to Shilegov, there is currently no opposition in the country that should exist in a democratic system and he believes that SDSM in its current form is “impersonal” and fails to attract new voters, which is why, as he says, a different approach to the work and organization of the party is necessary.
