The Government led by VMRO-DPMNE is taking care of the living standards of citizens with a specific plan and measures.

Reducing the value added tax (VAT) on fuels and releasing quantities of fuel oil from state reserves are the two measures with which the Government led by VMRO-DPMNE will prevent the increase in prices of products and electricity.

One of the key measures is the reduction of VAT on fuels from 18% to 10%, which directly affects the stabilization of prices.

With this measure, the price of gasoline is expected to remain almost unchanged, while diesel will increase by around MKD 3 to MKD 3.5 per liter, instead of more than MKD 10. Despite the increase, Macedonia has by far the lowest fuel prices in the region.

These measures bring concrete savings for citizens, save approximately 200 thousand euros per day, or somewhere around one and a half million euros per week, taking into account the average fuel consumption. Given that the average consumption is somewhere around one million and six hundred thousand liters, of which one million and two hundred liters are diesel fuel, approximately 75% and the remaining four hundred thousand liters are gasoline 95 and 98 octane.

Reducing taxes means immediately lower fuel prices. This is the fastest way to soften the blow and prevent the spread of price increases throughout the economy and save citizens’ money.
