Citizens in the country continue to actively use mobile telephony, but the trend shows a gradual decrease in calls. According to the latest data from the Agency for Electronic Communications, an average user in 2025 made 104.05 calls per month and talked for a total of 228.03 minutes.

Most of the calls continue to take place within the same mobile network – as much as 143.27 minutes or 62.83 percent of the total traffic. Traffic to other mobile networks in the country is significantly lower, amounting to 80.99 minutes or 35.52 percent.

Calls to fixed lines are almost negligible – only a few minutes per month, while calls to foreign countries are reduced to a minimum, with a share of only 0.13 percent.

Compared to the previous year, the data shows a decline in the total volume of calls to all destinations, which indicates a change in user habits, most likely due to the increased use of internet applications.

At the same time, the number of users continues to grow. At the end of 2025, there were 1,954,643 active subscribers in the country, which is an increase of 1.82 percent compared to 2024. Growth was observed among private post-paid users, while business subscribers recorded a slight decline.

According to the market share, the leader is A1 Macedonia with 48.08 percent, followed by Makedonski Telekom with 45.93 percent, while the other operators have a significantly smaller share.
