Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski told a press conference Sunday that the country is among the three European countries implementing the most comprehensive measures to ease the impact of price shocks, adding that gasoline and diesel prices are expected to decrease by MKD 1.5 starting Monday.

The PM said that the discount agreed with the OKTA company remains in force, according to which diesel is cheaper by MKD 2 per liter, and gasoline by MKD 3, assessing that Macedonia has the lowest fuel prices in the region.

“It’s evident that the Government’s measures have contributed to us being the third country in Europe according to the scope of measures implemented to cushion the energy crisis and to being a country with the lowest fuel prices. This is what the International Monetary Fund says,” Mickoski pointed out.

The PM stressed that the Government responded to energy challenges in a timely manner and that measures are being adjusted to global price movements through instruments such as VAT and excise duties.
