Former president of the Football Federation of Macedonia (FFM) Muhamed Meti Sejdini has been arrested, Ministry of Interior (MoI) sources tell NetPress.
Initial information obtained by NetPress says that he is suspected of embezzling approx. EUR 700,000, UEFA funds allocated to FFM for support and construction of a stand at the Ohrid stadium.
Within the framework of a case filed in the SKopje Public Prosecutor’s Office (PPO), police officers from the Department for Suppression of Organized and Serious Crime and the Department for Criminal Police arrested one person due to actions that indicate suspicions of criminal offenses – embezzlement and abuse, the Skopje Public Prosecutor’s Office informed after the news that the former FFM president Muhamed Meti Sejdini has been arrested.
The Prosecutor’s Office points out that actions are still being taken upon order of the public prosecutor, and more details about the further course of the procedure will be shared after the completion of the ongoing actions.
