Macedonian Prime Minister HristijanMickoski indicated in an interview with SitelTV that after the parliamentary elections in Bulgaria he spoke with Rumen Radev, and congratulated on his election victory and emphasized his commitment to dialogue and good neighborly relations.
“We have been offering creative solutions continuously for the past two years since we have been the government. We are continuously seeking meetings, talking with our partners in Brussels. We are in a bit of a dilemma, how should I say, because when we ask for a bilateral meeting through our partners in Brussels, they say there is nothing through Brussels, we need to talk directly. When we say, okay, let’s talk directly, they say this is a European proposal. A chaotic situation, but what we need to recognize is that we first need to do our homework,” Mickoskiunderlined.
The PM points out two examples that, according to him, only confirm the blockages the country is facing.
“We worked with our partners on the preparation of the Action Plan for Minorities. As they said in Brussels, so we worked, with an expert from Strasbourg for human rights, we literally worked the entire process as we were advised. One member state is blocking it. That is our eastern neighbor again. We need that Action Plan, let’s decide tomorrow to enter into constitutional amendments, if that document is not adopted, we cannot continue with the negotiations again. That is just another indicator that this is not the last. Only politicians who led exhibitionist and gullible policies thought that they had solved things that way. Only naive and soft politicians think that by signing a blankpiece of paper, or by kneeling down, they will solve things,” added PM Mickoski.
