The Government’s decision to limit trade margins, which referred to basic food products, ceases to be valid. The prices of white bread, sugar, sunflower oil, wheat flour – type 400 and type 500, but also eggs, pasta, rice, cheese, cheese, sour milk, cream, yogurt – will now be determined according to market conditions.
The Ministry of Economy said in a press release that if it is judged that there should be an extension of the deadline for limiting trade margins, it will be implemented.
On June 14, 2023, the Government adopted a Decision to freeze the margin of basic food products in retail and wholesale trade. The validity of the initial decision until September 30, 2022 was extended several times – most recently in April of this year when it was decided to extend the duration of the measure until June 30.
