Part of the Kichevo-Ohrid motorway route, along with the tunnels, will be opened to traffic on Independence Day, while its complete construction should be completed by early next year, Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski told reporters on Monday.
The Prime Minister announced that the section from Izvor to Vrbjani will be put into service on Independence Day – September 8th. This commissioning also includes the most complex engineering structures on this stretch, i.e. the constructed viaducts and tunnels.
The stretch from Ivanindol (located at the very exit from Kichevo) to Ohrid is scheduled to be officially launched in January.
The first quarter of 2027 is planned as a broader timeframe for the completion of this route.
