Today, Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs Bujar Osmani reiterated the position of the Democratic Union for Integration (DUI) that the issue of elections for them is secondary to the preservation of citizens’ health.

According to Osmani, the decision on whether there would be elections should be made by the experts from the Committee for Infectious Diseases.

“I will quote (DUI leader) Ali Ahmeti who said we are at war, and in war, decisions are made by generals. In our war, generals are doctors and epidemiologists, and they have to decide on further strategic steps. We are ready for elections, but the decision should be made by the Commiттее and the expert teams, given the fact whether the election process will affect the pandemic and the health of citizens,” said Osmani, answering reporters’ questions after today’s acceptance of Austria’s donation.
