The Union of Trade Unions of Macedonia (SSM) will submit its demands to the new government, such as an increase in wages in the private and public sectors, and a minimum wage of at least 450 euros in the first 100 days. Payment of food costs in the amount of 20 percent of the average salary and transportation costs will also be required. Because even two minimum wages do not cover the minimum consumption basket, of almost 1000 euros.
SSM president Slobodan Trendafilov states that with the formation of the new government, they will immediately request meetings to negotiate the new increase in the minimum wage.
“We expect that the future leaders of the state with the announced rebalancing will provide money as they predicted for higher official salaries, but also for the announced allowances that some of the officials will receive in one year,” said Trendafilov.
