Valandovo’s tap water shows increased levels of arsenic

Valandovo-based PE Communal Service informs the public that, according to the results of the analyses carried out by the Skopje Public Health Institute (PHI), an increased level of arsenic has been determined in the drinking water from the city water supply in Valandovo.

The arsenic level in the water is 14, and the maximum limit is 10. New samples have been taken and the results will be ready on Friday.

It is recommended that the water from the city water supply in Valandovo not be used for drinking until new results are obtained that will confirm its correctness. The water can be used exclusively as technical water.

Valandovo-based PE Communal Service is already undertaking all necessary activities and is carrying out additional analyses and controls of water quality, in cooperation with the competent institutions. The public will be informed in a timely manner about all further results and recommendations the public enterprise said in a press release Wednesday.
