The Macedonian Ministry of Interior (MoI) has carried out intensified actions against drug trafficking over the past week, with more than 70 people being detained and deprived of their liberty across the country.
According to information from the Ministry of Interior, the action controls were carried out in the period from July 27 to August 2, 2026, due to suspicion of crimes and misdemeanors related to trafficking and possession of narcotics.
“During the measures taken, various types of narcotic drugs were found and seized from the individuals, including white powdery substance, brown powdery substance, hashish and marijuana, as well as crushers and other items related to the use and distribution of drugs,” the Ministry of Interior said in its report.
There are also foreign nationals among the arrested, i.e. people from Belgium, Turkey and Germany.
