The Pelister National Park Public Institution has installed additional surveillance cameras at an altitude of 2,000 meters above sea level that will detect wild animals, as well as other events on the mountain.
The Pelister National Park Public Institution reported that preventive activities are yielding results and that process will be intensified.
“We installed the new cameras in a high region, above 2,000 meters above sea level. Our goal is to preserve and monitor the habitats of animals, to improve their living conditions and survival in nature. In this region, we hope to detect the movement of chamois, as well as other wild animals. The monitoring system will help us protect them, we will determine their numbers, health status and their potential in the Pelister National Park,” said the institution’s representative Petar Moshtanovski.
According to the Bitola Pelister National Park director Ivancho Toshevski, some of the cameras, in addition to monitoring wildlife, are also used to prevent unwanted events in Pelister.
