Eight countries outside the EU have joined the latest package of EU sanctions against Belarus for its support for Russian aggression in Ukraine, aligning their policies with the measures adopted by the EU Council on July 23, Euronews reports.

Among them, as the European Union has said, is N. Macedonia.

The other seven countries are Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Montenegro, Norway and Ukraine.

The sanctions concern stricter restrictions on trade in goods and technology that can strengthen Belarus’ military, technological, defense and security capabilities. Additional restrictions are also being introduced on the import of goods that can bring Belarus alternative income. The new measures also cover Belarusian crypto-asset business in the European Union.

However, exceptions are provided to ensure the availability of goods and services necessary to maintain the public internet infrastructure in Belarus.
