A new city train line between Zelenikovo and Skopje will start operating on Tuesday, with a total of eight departures per day in both directions.
According to the announcement, the line should provide a faster and simpler connection for residents of Zelenikovo and surrounding settlements with the capital, especially for those who commute to work, school or university every day.
The trains will operate at multiple times throughout the day, with departures in both the morning and afternoon hours, in order to cover the periods when there is the highest frequency of passengers.
With the introduction of this line, the authorities expect some passengers to replace their cars or bus transport with rail, which could also contribute to reducing traffic congestion at the entrance to Skopje.
The new line is part of broader announcements to improve suburban rail transport and better connect Skopje with surrounding settlements.
Authorities announce that passenger interest and line utilization will be monitored, and depending on the results, there may be additional changes or expansions to the timetable in the future.
