The ruling VLEN condemned the announcement that, as stated by the coalition, glorifies the war criminal Ratko Mladić, assessing that there should be political and institutional responsibility for such actions.

VLEN says that there must be no relativization or justification for the genocide in Srebrenica and emphasizes that their political responsibility lies with the citizens who have given them their trust.

In its party press release, VLEN also criticizes DUI, accusing the party of having double standards when it talks about Serbian political, economic and media influence in the region.

“No matter what this unreformed and hypocritical DUI, which functions as an old politburo, says, it ends up scoring an own goal,” said VLEN.

The coalition also refers to the period when DUI was part of the government, pointing out the party’s participation in the Open Balkans project. According to VLEN, this is an initiative that DUI presented at that time as a new regional future, while today, as the coalition says, they associate the same concept with the term “Serbian world”.

“DUI is looking for the “Serbian world” in others, but it is running away from its own political biography”, say VREDI, adding that DUI has been part of governments for years and took part in making key political decisions.

VLEN adds that if DUI continues to raise topics related to the “Serbian world”, it will respond with specific dates, statements and documents related to the period when DUI was in power.

“We will remind you of what they said and what they kept silent about while they were in power, as well as what was happening before their eyes,” reads VLEN’s press release.
