In all primary schools on the territory of the Skopje Municipality of Gazi Baba, classes will begin every Monday with the singing of the national anthem, said Gazi Baba Mayor BobanStefkovski on Monday.
Municipality Mayor Stefkovski explained the decision to introduce this practice in school classrooms in a social media post.
“Every Monday, classes in primary schools on the territory of the Municipality of Gazi Baba will begin with the singing of the anthem of the Republic of Macedonia. The anthem is not just a song. It is a symbol of our freedom, statehood, history and the sacrifice of the generations that fought for an independent and sovereign Macedonia,” Stefkovskisaid.
The mayor points out that this initiative aims to foster respect for state symbols and build a sense of belonging among young people.
“Through education, we build the knowledge and future of children, but at the same time we teach them to respect their homeland, its national symbols and the values that unite us as a people,” Mayor Stefkovskisaid in his post.
