Macedonia saw a dignified observance of the 35th independence anniversary, and the global star who published a video that received more than a million views in less than a day shows what it meant to him for being here in Skopje and the energy he received during the performance, Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski told reporters Sunday.
“I’m watching the opposition’s show and I think they are the only ones who are not satisfied because the month-long celebrations of the 35th independence anniversary went really well. There were a lot of very happy citizens, and according to estimates, more than 200,000 people attended all events. Those who despair used to put the money in private pockets,” PM Mickoski pointed out.
He added that the Government decided to put back a portion of the State Lottery funds back to the people, to culture, to artists, adding they would continue to do the same in the coming years.
“I agree with the opposition that we are not the same. The SDSM-DUI-led government used to put the State Lottery funds into the private pockets of several former officials who are now being tried in court,” said Mickoski.
The PM noted that the Government will prepare similar events every year, supporting other cultural or sporting initiatives.
“We believe this should be the role of the State Lottery as a company that fosters corporate social responsibility, and this is regulated in the new Law on Games of Chance. Therefore, prepare for many more beautiful moments, many happy people, and most importantly, a prosperous Macedonia,” added PM Mickoski.
