There is intensified construction activity on the railway line to Bulgaria, specifically the section from Beljakovce to Kriva Palanka. This section spans 34 km. Work is currently proceeding rapidly on Bridge No. 7, the longest at 194 meters, which is one of the three bridges yet to be built out of a total of 29, Macedonian Railways Infrastructure director Sinisha Ivanovski said Friday in a social media post.
“Concrete elements needed to rehabilitate the 26 bridges that were left partially constructed in the 1990s are being manufactured concurrently. A total of 352 concrete elements need to be produced; 71 have been completed so far, with a production rate of 10 per week,” he added.
“Overall project progress stands at approximately 40%. We project reaching 50% completion by the end of this year. We are continuing at an accelerated pace toward the final completion of this major infrastructure project,” noted Ivanovski.
