The State Sanitary and Health Inspectorate (SSHI) has concluded its special inspection of the general hospitals in Ohrid and Struga and the University Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics regarding the case of patient Lj.Sh. from Ohrid, who lost her fetus before the end of her pregnancy. Macedonian Minister of Health Sasho Klekovski has requested a review of the work performed by the patient’s primary care gynecologist and the treatment she received at a private healthcare facility.
Klekovski said Wednesday that the report covered the general hospitals in Ohrid and Struga and the University Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics for the period from May to September.
“The inspection has been carried out, and I requested a review of the primary care gynecologist’s work prior to the patient’s admission to the hospital in Ohrid. There is a statement indicating that she also visited a private healthcare facility during this period, so I requested an inspection of the procedures performed there to ensure we have complete information. As with the previous case, I want to establish contact with the patient, as this should not be a matter of communication through the media. I appeal for a little patience. By tomorrow, we will finalize the report to include the findings regarding the primary care gynecologist and the private healthcare facility,” Minister Klekovski noted.
