Macedonian Minister of Interior Panche Toshkovski paid a working visit Friday to the Ohrid Interior Department and the Regional Center for Border Affairs – West, where he discussed the current security situation, ongoing activities, and operational priorities with their leadership teams.
At the Ohrid Interior Department, special emphasis was placed on the final preparations for the command center, which is essential for the practical implementation of the ‘Safe City’ system within the Department’s jurisdiction. The meeting confirmed that activities are in the final stage and that the system is scheduled to go live on October 12.
“We are in the final stages of setting up the command center at the Ohrid Interior Department, which is necessary to begin the practical implementation of ‘the Safe City’ system. We have reached an agreement in principle with the leadership that we will be ready to launch the system on October 12 across the entire territory covered by the Ohrid Department. This means we are extending ‘Safe City’ to the areas of Ohrid, Struga, Kichevo, and Debar. Over the next two weeks, we need to complete the remaining tasks to make this smart system fully operational,” Minister Toshkovski noted.
