The National Council for European Integration welcomed Friday in Parliament a delegation of the French Senate led by French senator Marta de Cidrac, president of the French Senate’s France-Western Balkans Interparliamentary Friendship Group.
According to a press release from Parliament, the French delegation on a two-day visit to the country met with the council’s chair Venko Filipche and members Nikola Micevski, Vesna Bendevska and Antonijo Miloshoski as well as with Aleksandar Spasenovski, a representative from Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski’s office.
Senator De Cidrac gave thanks for the warm reception, noting that the delegation’s visit included a series of constructive meetings. She confirmed the friendly relations between the two nations and said North Macedonia has the continuous support of France on its path to the European Union.
At the same time, she highlighted France’s commitment to the greater promotion of the French language and culture as well as strengthening cooperation as part of the Francophonie organization of French-speaking countries.
MP Miloshoski noted the need to intensify economic cooperation, pointing out the potential for new investments and boosting trade with France.
