The average monthly net wage in May was MKD 49,544 (EUR 805), up by 8.2 percent compared to the same month in 2025, the State Statistics Office (SSO) said on Wednesday.
This increase is primarily due to the increase in the average monthly net wage paid per employee in the sectors: Water supply; wastewater disposal, waste management and environmental remediation activities by 11.9 percent, Arts, entertainment and recreation by 11.3 percent and Transport and storage by 10.9 percent.
An increase in the average monthly net wage paid per employee, compared to the previous month, was recorded in the sectors: Wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles by 6.3 percent, Mining and quarrying by 5.8 percent and Transportation and storage by 5.7 percent.
In May 2026, the average monthly gross wage paid was MKD 74,482.
