There have been stormy reactions on social media in the past few days after it was announced that the Film Agency will finance a biographical musical documentary about musician Marko Marinkovikj – Slatkaristika, which deals with the challenges faced by people with speech and communication difficulties.

Controversial Bulgarian and president of the Macedonia Foundation Viktor Stoyanov, who has also received criminal charges for spreading racist and xenophobic material through a computer system that incites national and ethnic hatred, announced that a hunt is being waged in Macedonia against Slatkar because he had Bulgarian citizenship.

“In Skopje, there is a musician who is a friend of Bulgaria and a Bulgarian citizen of mixed Serbian-Bulgarian descent, called Slatkaristika. He has now received funding from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Macedonia and the entire “nationalist” community of North Macedonians has jumped against him with the argument: “How could the state finance Slatkar, who was a friend of Bulgaria, and this was unacceptable”, etc. We must fight against this evil with all means and forces, because it is on our borders and wants our cultural death, no matter how Bulgarian people there are in Macedonia,” said Stoyanov.
