Macedonian Deputy PM for Good Governance Arben Fetai said he has resigned from his post and submitted his resignation to Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski.
In a social media post announcing his resignation, Fetai says he steps down with his head held high and with clear conscience.
“This is a well-considered decision, taken with the firm belief that it is the most just and dignified step under the current circumstances. During these two years, I have had the honor and privilege to serve the country, contributing to reforms aimed at strengthening accountability, transparency and the rule of law. I thank everyone who believed in me, supported me and collaborated with me on this journey. Am I completely satisfied with what I have achieved? Of course not. There is always room for more and for better. But have I worked with the utmost dedication to lay a solid foundation on which to build further? Without hesitation, yes,” said Fetai.
In his resignation, Fetai expresses gratitude for being entrusted with the office of Deputy Prime Minister for Good Governance, adding however that under the current circumstances, the necessary conditions no longer exist for him to perform the task with the required efficiency and for those reasons, he is stepping down from the post.
In response to a reporter’s question about Deputy PM Fetai’s resignation, Prime Minister Mickoski said it would be archived tomorrow, while regarding the government reshuffle, he said discussions will take place with coalition partners.
The PM noted that in the resignation Fetai has expressed gratitude for working with him as Prime Minister, as well as with other colleagues within the Government.
