Mickoski has no right to block Macedonia’s European path, said SDSM party leader Venko Filipche in response to a reporter’s question Sunday. Filipche stressed that the government is obliged to enable citizens to express their opinion on the future of the country in which they live.
“The Government has an obligation to schedule a referendum, because it has no right to stop the country’s European path, because they lied that they would provide a better negotiating position and never said that they would block the country’s European path, because they lied that they would return the name, that they would abolish the Prespa Agreement, the Good Neighborliness Treaty and did none of that,” said Filipche.
The leader of the main opposition party believes that whether the country continues negotiations with the European Union depends only on the Government, which, as he says, obviously does not want that. He maintains the position that the inclusion of Bulgarians in the Constitution will in no way threaten Macedonian identity.
