Leader of the opposition SDSM, Venko Filipche, in an interview with Telma TV, pointed out that SDSM’s new program framework has been set inclusively and that it has highlighted several key areas that are of interest to citizens and to which the next government will need to pay the most attention.
“The process of preparing the program framework was done very inclusively. We identified several main topics, which I believe need to be worked on further, to listen to experts, party, non-party, civil society organizations, activists, and intellectuals. These are the areas in which the next government, because this is obviously not working, will need to pay the most attention – education, health and energy,” said Filipche.
Referring to healthcare, a sector in which he was a minister in the previous two SDSM-led governments, Filipche spoke about the need for a different arrangement of the system, in which the focus will be on the interests of citizens and the quality of the service.
“A kind of healthcare, where the fund should become the buyer of services, and in which the public in healthcare should not be ownership, but interest. And ownership can be state or private – we will save a lot, waiting lists will be shorter and the quality of healthcare services will significantly go up,” said Filipche.
Regarding energy, Filipche pointed out that the state has resources, but that they should be used properly and without abuse.
“Considering our national resources, they should be used properly, but not with abuse, but with true and proper distribution. Energy, in fact, is one area in which we expected a lot from the prime minister because, as an energy expert, unfortunately, the biggest debacle happened here,” said the opposition leader.
