The Skopje Basic Criminal Court handed on Tuesday a combined one-year suspended sentence to the former head of the State Commission for the Prevention of Corruption (SCPC), Tatjana Dimitrovska, for disclosing official secrets and for computer forgery.
The court found Dimitrovska guilty of disclosing official secrets, for which she was sentenced to eight months in prison, as well as for computer forgery, for which she was sentenced to six months in prison. A single sentence of one year in prison was imposed for both criminal offenses, which is an alternative measure – a suspended sentence and will not be executed if the defendant does not commit a new criminal offense within two years after the verdict becomes final.
The Court also found auditor Mile Stolevski guilty of the crime of computer forgery. He was given an alternative measure of probation, which stipulates a six-month prison sentence if he does not commit a new crime within two years.
In the elaboration of the verdict, the trial council stated that any disclosure of an official secret paralyzes anti-corruption efforts and gives the suspect an advantage over the law enforcement authorities.
