Macedonian Minister of Public Administration, Goran Minchev in an interview with Sitel TV’s News reacted sharply to the reactions of the opposition SDSM regarding the agreement reached with the unions, assessing that these are unfounded and politically motivated claims.
“From the way SDSM is commenting on this agreement, I can say that it is pursuing a nihilistic and self-destructive policy. The government is continuously bringing solutions that cover all employees where the state is the employer – in the police, defense, health, education, and now it ends up with around 11 thousand employees in the public administration, for whom the fact is that the wages were really low,” Minchev pointed out.
The minister emphasizes that the Ministry of Public Administration, in coordination with the Ministry of Finance and led by the Prime Minister, has been leading this process for more than a year through intensive social dialogue with the representative branch unions UPOZ and SADU.
“Today, a historic agreement has been reached by which the wages of public administration employees, which have been at a low level for years, will increase by 40 percent by the end of 2027 or the beginning of 2028, including regular annual adjustments,” the minister stressed.
