Macedonian Minister of Interior Panche Toshkovski met Weddnesday in Tetovo with the rector and management of the Tetovo State University, after which he visited the Tetovo Interior Department, where he discussed with the management the current security situation, challenges and results of their work.
During the visit to the Tetovo Interior Department, a stable security situation was noted, and the results in the area of traffic safety were highlighted as particularly significant.
“Tetovo is one of the cities where the ‘Safe City’ system is already being implemented, and according to data for the first eight months of this year, three people lost their lives in traffic accidents in the area of the Tetovo Department, compared to nine in the same period last year. The total number of traffic accidents has also decreased. These are results that best speak to the benefits of the system. When we talk about the ‘Safe City’ system, we are not just talking about sanctioning violations, but above all about changing traffic habits, safer streets and saving human lives,” Minister Toshkovski pointed out.
